ATLANTA – Sept. 20, 2016 – The Technology Executives Roundtable (TER), an association of more than 120 CEOs, CFOs and general managers in Georgia’s technology community, announced it will honor Michael R. Cote, president and CEO of SecureWorks (NASDAQ: SCWX), with the Seventh Annual John Imlay Leadership Award. The ceremony will be held Tues., Oct. 18 at 7 a.m. at the City Club of Buckhead in Atlanta.
The John Imlay Leadership Award recognizes and celebrates individuals who have shown exceptional leadership on behalf of the Georgia high-tech community. It is named in honor of the late John Imlay, Jr., former chairman of Imlay Investments, who is credited with helping create two of Atlanta’s biggest tech industries — software and internet security.
As president and CEO of SecureWorks, Cote, the 2016 award recipient, successfully led the company through an acquisition by Dell in 2011 for $612 million. Most notably, under his leadership, Cote increased the company’s annual revenue from less than $1 million to more than $130 million, prior to the 2011 acquisition. On April 22, 2016, also under Cote’s direction, SecureWorks went public. With more than 18 years of experience in high-growth industries, Cote has successfully grown SecureWorks into one of the world’s leading providers of intelligence-driven IT security solutions.
“As an integral member of Atlanta’s technology market, Mike’s leadership has cemented SecureWorks as a prominent Atlanta business, while adding another global brand, Dell, to the city’s portfolio of companies conducting business here,” said Eric Christ, president of TER. “Having a leadership style marked by open communication, high integrity and a customer-centric philosophy, Mike continues to be a positive role model in the Atlanta tech community. For these reasons, we are privileged to recognize him as the recipient of the 2016 John Imlay Leadership Award.”
The TER awards ceremony will include a fireside chat led by John Yates, partner overseeing the technology practice at Morris, Manning & Martin LLP.
“As the first technology IPO of 2016, SecureWorks has had a year like no other,” said Cote. “To cap that success, I’m honored to receive the John Imlay Leadership Award. This is not only a testament to the achievements of SecureWorks, but to the wider cybersecurity community of Georgia. With so much excitement in 2016, I’m eager to continue the innovations in the years to come.”
Past recipients of the John Imlay Leadership Award include David Cummings, co-founder of Pardot and founder of Atlanta Tech Village; Bill Nussey, former chairman and CEO of Silverpop; Alan Dabbiere, founder of Manhattan Associates and former chairman of AirWatch; Charlie Moseley, founder of Noro-Moseley Partners; Tom Noonan, co-founder of JouleX, Endgame and TechOperators and former chairman and CEO of Internet Security Systems; and Sig Mosley, managing partner of Mosley Ventures and former president of Imlay Investments.
